Quiz Runner

(Unreleased)

A quiz race game plus the concept of collecting coins and unlocking characters along the way.

One of the experiments that we were trying out with this project was to create new default characters for a game.
For most games in the ZEPETO app, we would use the default ZEPETO character as player. We decided to change that.

As the animator, my task was to create sets of locomotion and animation for the newly created characters.

Softwares used:
- Autodesk Maya (Keyframe animation)
- Unity (Overall game development)
- GitHub (Storage, collaborating, merging)

We decided to create animal characters to emphasize on the style contrast from default human ZEPETO character.
Some of the elements that we thought were crucial to keep in these characters were cuteness and

Because we did not have the resource to have the models rigged,
I would keyframe animating using the default ZEPETO rig and bring the finished animation files to Unity
The animations would be retargeted to the new animal characters.

Unfortunately, the animation was not transferrable to some parts of the characters;
such as facial features, fingers, and certain joints.

But overall, the animation was retargeted successfully!

Using the same method, we created a few narrative shots for when the user finishes the race.
These shots would be triggered at the finish line and played randomly depending on whether they "won" or "lost."

Shots created using the "Timeline" sequence tool in Unity.

Three shots for "Win" played randomly
One shot for "Lose"

The character animations were created in Maya and later brought into Unity for retargeting method.
Camera animation and minor animation fixes were done in Unity.
